Pearl Harbor

Pearl Harbor is a U.S. naval base near Honolulu, Hawaii, that was the scene of a devastating surprise attack by Japanese forces on December 7, 1941. Today, it is home to the USS Arizona Memorial, the Battleship Missouri, and the Pacific Aviation Museum among many must-see sites.

USS Arizona Memorial

The USS Arizona Memorial is built over the remains of the sunken battleship. Since the morning of December 7, 1941, the Black Tears of the USS Arizona have been slowly leaking and rising to create pools that float on the surface of Pearl Harbor. There are free tours to the USS Arizona Memorial and a compelling documentary film on the history of the politics, the people, and the attack on Oahu.
