Thousands of students make their way to Philadelphia each year on field trips and educational tours - and it's no secret why. The birthplace of American democracy, Philadelphia has certainly retained its ties to early colonial history. It's so easy to dive into American history in this "City of Brotherly Love!"
Today, we're exploring four of the most important historic sites to catch in Philly!
1. Liberty Bell

A symbol of American independence, the Liberty Bell was first erected in Independence Hall in 1752. Cracked after its first ringing, the bell was removed and now remains as an enduring symbol of liberty.
2. Independence Hall

The centerpiece of Independence National Historical Park, Independence Hall was the site for the signing of both the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution.
3. Valley Forge National Historic Park

The site for the Continental Army in the winter of 1777-1778, Valley Forge was designated as a historical park in 1976. The park contains a museum, memorials, and recreated encampments.
4. Independence National Historic Park

Nicknamed “America’s Most Historic Square Mile,” this 55-acre park preserves many sites associated with the American Revolution. The park’s most predominant attraction is Independence Hall.
