Located on a high bluff above the mighty Mississippi River, Vicksburg is a step back into history. Downtown Vicksburg is full of wonderful shops and restaurants as well as the unique Art Park at Catfish Row. Here you’ll enjoy outdoor exhibits, murals, gardens, fountains and more. Vicksburg National Military Park is nearby and a “must see” for history buffs.

Vermillionville

This Living History Museum and Folklife Park is located on an over 20 acre village complete with meticulously recreated period homes all staffed with guides in period costumes demonstrating activities popular during that era. The museum focuses on the 18th century Acadian’s who settled the area. Pick up a guide booklet to use on the easy to follow walking tour.

French Quarter

These 80 city blocks are full of historical homes and buildings, most with interiors open for public tours. There are mansions, blacksmith shops, museums, the old U.S. Mint, the European styled French Market and so much more, all for you to explore and enjoy.

Cajun Swamp Tour

You’ll explore a beautiful Louisiana cypress swamp guided by an experienced swamp tour guide. See alligators lounging among Spanish moss draped trees, watch herons and egrets take flight and search for turtles climbing onto the rocks and submerged logs all while hearing facts and figures relating to the wildlife and natural beauty of the area.

Rosedown Plantation

Rosedown Plantation, encompassing 374 acres in St. Francisville, is one of the most intact, documented examples of a domestic plantation complex in the South. The plantation's landscape is a laboratory for the study and interpretation of the cultural traditions of slavery, the life style of the gentry and scientific experiments in agriculture and horticulture.

Bellingrath Gardens

Located right outside Mobile, Bellingrath Gardens and Home is 65 acres of blooming magic! Camellias in the winter, azaleas in the spring, roses in the summer and chrysanthemums in the fall. Enjoy a self-guided walking tour that includes the Asian-American Garden and the Butterfly Garden. Then tour the 10,500 square foot Bellingrath Home and marvel at the original furnishings and world class art. You can also enjoy a 45 minute cruise along the Fowl River and hear about everything from civil war history to birding habits.
